Instructor-led Courses


Thank you for your interest! Our 2023 Therapeutic Massage classes are currently full. If any seats become available, this page will be updated accordingly.

This 660-hour program provides future massage therapists with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the salon/spa industry, as well as the field of healthcare. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the human body, its anatomy and physiology, as well as administering a professional massage in a clinical environment. Students will be prepared to become licensed massage therapists in North Carolina.  

-Course Fee: $180 

-Required student insurance: $14.50 [Can be purchased at the registration window in the Neill Currie Building - 218 Hull Road - during business hours: M-F, 8 am-4:45 pm]

-Students will be responsible for the additional cost of textbooks, uniforms, and supplies.

The section taught by Angela Joplin (91625) will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1:30-5:30 pm from 1/17/23-11/17/23.

The section taught by Deborah Munch-Aberg (91626) will meet Mondays from 9:15 am-4:15 pm (minus a 45-min. lunch break) AND Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:15 am-1 pm from 1/18/23-11/16/23.

Note that spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once classes are full, we can add you to our waiting list.

Per the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy the following are requirements for licensure to practice:

-Must have high school diploma or equivalent

-Must be proficient in the English language

CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: The Therapeutic Massage program prepares students to sit for the MBLEx Licensure ExamThe NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy License  is valid in North Carolina.

There will be a required orientation session for all registered students in January.

Refund & Enrollment Policy


Refund Policy

The refund policy for Fayetteville Technical Community College's Continuing Education Division was established by the North Carolina Department of Community Colleges, Raleigh on October 15, 1993. The full refund policy is listed in the NC Administrative Code 23NCAC.2D.0203 (d) Brief Statement of Policy:
  1. A pre-registered extension student who officially withdraws from an extension class(es) prior to the first meeting of the class (should be 24 hours prior) will be eligible for a 100 percent refund by completing an official request form.
  2. The refund will be 75 percent if requested prior to the 10 percent date of the class(es) meeting.
  3. No refunds will be given after 10 percent of class meetings.

Enrollment Policy

Enrollment for a course will end 1 week prior to the course start date at 4:45 pm.

For example: Course Start Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2023
Enrollment Deadline: Tuesday, January 10, 2023 @ 4:45 pm

Computer & Course Materials Requirements

Information on textbooks, supplies, and uniforms will be provided to all registered students within 1 week after their registrations are processed.


Computer Requirements

Students are not required to have personal computers for this face-to-face class.
