THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE I

Thank you for your interest! Registration is now open for the 2024 Therapeutic Massage I classes.

FTCC's 2-course Therapeutic Massage program (total of 660 hours of training) provides future massage therapists with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the salon/spa industry, as well as the field of healthcare. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the human body, its anatomy and physiology, as well as administering a professional massage in a clinical environment. Students will be prepared to become licensed massage therapists in North Carolina.  

-Course Fee: $180 

-Required student insurance: $15.50 ($1 increase from 2023)

-Students will be responsible for the additional cost of textbooks, uniforms, and supplies.

We are still tweaking the schedules a bit with our instructors, but here is a general overview of how we envision the two cohorts of the program flowing from January - November 2024:

The cohort taught by Angela Joplin will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:15-5:30 pm and Tuesdays from 2:15-5:30 pm. (There is no class on Fridays) Therapeutic Massage I (90175) will run from 1/16/24-6/21/24. Therapeutic Massage II will run from 7/9/24-11/22/24. **This cohort of Therapeutic Massage I is now full**


The cohort taught by Deborah Munch-Aberg will meet Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. (There is no class on Tuesdays) Therapeutic Massage I (90176) will run from 1/19/24-6/14/24. Therapeutic Massage II will run from 7/15/24-11/22/24.**This cohort of Therapeutic Massage I is now full**

Note that spaces will be filled in the order in which registrations are received. Once classes are full, we can add you to our waiting list.

REQUIREMENTS:

Per the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy the following are requirements for licensure to practice:

-Must have high school diploma or equivalent

-Must be proficient in the English language

CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: The Therapeutic Massage program prepares students to sit for the MBLEx Licensure ExamThe NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy License  is valid in North Carolina.

PRE-REQUISITES:
There will be a required orientation session for all registered students in January.

Refund & Enrollment Policy

 

Refund Policy

The refund policy for Fayetteville Technical Community College's Continuing Education Division was established by the North Carolina Department of Community Colleges, Raleigh on October 15, 1993. The full refund policy is listed in the NC Administrative Code 23NCAC.2D.0203 (d) Brief Statement of Policy:
  1. A pre-registered extension student who officially withdraws from an extension class(es) prior to the first meeting of the class (should be 24 hours prior) will be eligible for a 100 percent refund by completing an official request form.
  2. The refund will be 75 percent if requested prior to the 10 percent date of the class(es) meeting.
  3. No refunds will be given after 10 percent of class meetings.

Enrollment Policy

Space permitting, enrollment for a course will end 1 week prior to the course start date at 4:45 pm.

For example: Course Start Date: Tuesday, January 16, 2024
Enrollment Deadline: Tuesday, January 9, 2024 @ 4:45 pm



Computer & Course Materials Requirements

Information on textbooks, supplies, and uniforms will be provided to all registered students within 1 week after their registrations are processed.

 

Computer Requirements

Students are not required to have personal computers for this face-to-face class.
