THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE I

Thank you for your interest! Registration for the 2025 Therapeutic Massage I classes begins on Tuesday, October 1 at 9:00am.

FTCC's 2-course Therapeutic Massage program (total of 660 hours of training) provides future massage therapists with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the salon/spa industry, as well as the field of healthcare. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the human body, its anatomy and physiology, as well as administering a professional massage in a clinical environment. Students will be prepared to become licensed massage therapists in North Carolina.

-Course Fee: $180

-Required student insurance: $16.00

-Students will be responsible for the additional cost of textbooks, uniforms, and supplies.

Here is a general overview of the schedules for the two different cohorts:

Cohort A will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:15-5:30 pm and Tuesdays from 2:15-5:30 pm. (There is no class on Fridays). Therapeutic Massage I (91720) will run from 1/07/25-6/12/25.

Cohort B will meet Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. (There is no class on Tuesdays). Therapeutic Massage I (91721) will run from 1/10/25-6/13/25.

**Class schedules are subject to change at the discretion of FTCC. Students will be notified in advance of any schedule changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Per the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy the following are requirements for licensure to practice:
-Must have high school diploma or equivalent
-Must be proficient in the English language
CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: The Therapeutic Massage program prepares students to sit for the MBLEx Licensure Exam. The NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy License is valid in North Carolina.

PRE-REQUISITES:
There will be a required orientation session for all registered students in January.

Refund & Enrollment Policy

Refund Policy

The refund policy for Fayetteville Technical Community College's Continuing Education Division was established by the North Carolina Department of Community Colleges, Raleigh on October 15, 1993. The full refund policy is listed in the NC Administrative Code 23NCAC.2D.0203 (d) Brief Statement of Policy:

A pre-registered extension student who officially withdraws from an extension class(es) prior to the first meeting of the class (should be 24 hours prior) will be eligible for a 100 percent refund by completing an official request form.
The refund will be 75 percent if requested prior to the 10 percent date of the class(es) meeting.
No refunds will be given after 10 percent of class meetings.

Enrollment Policy

Space permitting, enrollment for a course will end 1 week prior to the course start date at 4:45 pm.

For example: Course Start Date: Friday, January 10, 2025
Enrollment Deadline: Friday, January 3, 2025 @ 4:45 pm

Computer & Course Materials Requirements

Information on textbooks, supplies, and uniforms will be provided to all registered students within 1 week after their registrations are processed.

Computer Requirements

Students are not required to have personal computers for this face-to-face class.
